Colleen Wilson-Lord OAM
Colleen has worked tirelessly for many decades to improve the health & wellbeing of our senior community throughout metropolitan and regional areas – bringing fitness to more remote areas of Australia. She has been working in the health and wellness industry for over 40 years, during which time she has developed many national healthy lifestyle programmes, including Walking for Pleasure, Gentle Exercise, Aqua Fitness, Exercise Energiser Display Team, Healthy Lifestyle Vacations and Pole-Walking.
One of her particular passions is Life Ball – a popular ball game for older adults played by over 2000 people in over 70 locations throughout Australia.
Well past retirement age, Colleen still holds positions as Director, Healthy Lifestyle Health Promotion Services and Director: Community Education & Development, Community Fitness Australia.
Colleen facilitates her programs through 50 organisations across Australia. In 1991 she was awarded the Order of Australia Medal and in 2005 she was nominated for Australian of the Year. Colleen has also received numerous other awards including:
